Nebraska travel writer attends Trump rally in Reno
We drove to Carson City from Oakland, California. When we heard that the Republican presidential nominee would be speaking in Reno, just a half hour away, we jumped at what would likely be our last chance to experience first-hand this bizarre chapter in American history, despite having already voted for Hillary Clinton by absentee ballot.
We arrived two hours early, the line already pushing out the front doors of the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and snaking around the block. Salesmen peddled "Hillary for Prison 2016" bumper stickers and "Make America Great Again" hats in every color, mostly camouflage.
